I have been a member of the Knights of Columbus for over ten years. I cannot recall the exact year I joined but it was when I was a student at Saint Anselm College. We had our own college council and were quite successful. Some of my fondest memories from college are from the Knights. I have not been as active since I left college because of the demands of life but I am still an active member.
The Knights are best known for their charitable work and outreach to those in need. In these days of $20,000-$50,000 college tuition, any little aid can help. Thus, I encourage anyone applying to a Catholic college to consider applying for the Massachusetts Knights of Columbus scholarship. The application is a word document and I can't upload it into this post so call the Massachusetts Knights at 781-551-0628 or e-mail them at MAStateKofC@verizon.net for an application. The deadline is April 3, 2009 so don't delay.
