So Gov. Deval Patrick has fallen all over himself saying the appointment of State Sen. Marian Walsh to a $175,000 job that remained vacant for 12 years was necessary and prudent. He also implied that the process of picking Walsh was above politics.
However, the Boston Globe has found that the appointment was nothing more than political hackery at its best. They obtained e-mails from Patrick's staff that show the administration was involved in the job description, salary, and talking points for the criticism that would come out.
